Columbiettes
The Columbiettes are an international organization of Catholic women presently established in the United States and Canada. They are the women members of the Auxiliary affiliated with its Knights of Columbus Council. The primary requirements to be a member of this organization is to be a Catholic female in good standing with the Church and to be 18 years of age or older. The purpose is to aid that Knights Council in their spiritual and social activities when asked. The Columbiette Auxiliary has its own activities; spiritual, social and charitable welfare of their members, etc.
This organization was founded in 1939, by Margaret Mary J. Mangan, who later became the first Supreme President; Past Faithful Navigator John Leo Coyle and Past Grand Knight Charles P. Maruca under the inspiration of Msgr. J. Francis Mc Intyre, then Chaplain of the New York Chapter Knights of Columbus., who later became J. Francis Cardinal Mc Intyre of Los Angeles, and was established to form Catholic Women's Auxiliaries to be affiliated with and support the Knights of Columbus. To our founders we dedicate ourselves to do God's work on Earth promoting unity, Christ's love for each of us, and zeal to serve God through Faith, Hope and Charity.
